Looking to the future of IoT with a critical eye

IoT

After a long day at the office the only thing I want and need is to prepare a nice, healthy salad and go to bed. But looking through the fridge I realize that half of the products in it are expired and the other half is no use for the recipe I had in mind. Oh, only if I had someone or someTHING to remind me when I need to go to the supermarket :) But wait, there actually could be someTHING… the Internet of Things (IoT)

Smart devices sure do make our lives much more convenient, but is it really safe and healthy to have our entire existence connected to the internet? Will we soon start to talk about our e-lives, e-meals, e-habits?

I think there is a thin line between what we actually need in order to optimize our existence and our desire to get everything online – from our home, cars to the human body itself.
